TO IMPROVE THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF ALL STUDENTS
I. Continue developing Professional Learning Communities to increase student learning.
1. Use PLC Teams to determine essential outcomes and
establish common assessments. (Eggerding; Division Chairs)
• All core courses by August 2011
• All remaining courses by August 2012
2. Develop a professional development schedule through June 2012 that outlines quarterly
opportunities for staff designed to further enhance PLC’s. (Eggerding; Curriculum Staff Development

3. Through June 2012, continue to develop Pyramids of Support that provide systematic
interventions to improve student achievement. (Eggerding; Franson; Bredrup)
II. Fully implement a data-driven decision-making model to increase student achievement.
1. Install, configure and utilize a data warehouse to provide accurate and accessible data.

2. Install, configure and implement a new student information system. (Tennant; Core SIS

• Communicate parent portal information and access via online tutorials and training

3. Provide yearly staff development programs on effective use of student performance
data so that PLC Teams support essential outcomes. (Smith)
4. Develop an individual student growth model to track the achievement and progress of
students over a sustained period of time. (Eggerding; Smith; Division Chairs)
• Integrate growth model with new data warehouse and student information system. (August

5. Monitor and evaluate the academic performance of students who score in the lower
quartiles of each grade level and use this information to make curricular revisions to improve

• Submit math curriculum changes for Algebra. (October 2010)
• Review the performance of the Humanities and Becci Programs. (June 2011)
• Analyze student performance in the core content areas from the previous year’s PSAE

III. Increase opportunities for all students to maximize their performance on high stakes tests.
1. Improve the performance of all sub-group populations on the PSAE by 5% in both math and

2. Increase the number of students taking AP exams and the number of tests scoring a 3

3. Enhance articulation efforts with associate schools by producing updated Data

IV. Improve the academic achievement of minority and immigrant students.
1. Provide sequenced activities for minority and immigrant students that coordinate their

2. Increase the co-curricular participation rates of minority and immigrant students by

3. Increase the enrollment of minority and immigrant students in AP courses. (June 2011)

V. Maintain a safe school climate that is conducive to learning.
1. Continue the District’s ongoing efforts to provide resources that educate students,
parents, staff, and community on mental health and social emotional issues. (Franson; Bredrup;

2. Identify a nationally-normed school climate survey for students and plan for secure,
