Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Lyons Township High School Band Program. There is
a long tradition of excellence in the music department at L.T. and we hope that you will strongly
consider becoming a member of the band.
If you are considering being a member of the L.T. Band, then you or your child have already
spent several years enrolled in your junior high or middle school band program. We strongly urge
you to not let those years of hard work and practice go to waste. The band program at L.T. is made
up of the finest musicians from area schools and promises to be an exciting experience which is
tailored to the ability of a growing musician. Once a student puts down their band instrument they
rarely pick it back up again. Consistent participation is the key to success in instrumental music.
There have been several exciting changes and opportunities in the L.T. Band Department. The
Marching Band was selected for a premier parade performance in Walt Disney World in April of 2008
and in 2010. The Marching Lions also performed at the Carl Sandburg Marching Band Festival (2007),
US Open Soccer Cup finals at Toyota Park (2006) and marched in the Chicago Columbus Day Parade
(2006). Our Wind Ensemble performed a joint concert with the Chicago Brass Band and our Jazz Bands
performed at the Evanston Jazz Festival.
