Summer Academic Program dates and times:

Semester I: Monday, June 11, 2012 through Thursday, June 28, 2012

Semester II: Monday, July 2, 2012 through Friday, July 20, 2012

Classes meet MTWRF from 8:00 a.m. until 12:34 p.m. (Keyboarding and Physical Education meets from 8:00 a.m. until 10:13 a.m OR 10:20 a.m. until 12:34 p.m.)

Summer Student Handbook - The online version of the summer school student handbook.  Each student will receive a hardcopy of this handbook on the first day of summer classes.

Registration Information

In-District Registration:  Beginning on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 12:00 p.m., online registrations for the 2012 Summer Academic Program will be accepted. In-District registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012.  Payment will be made for all registrations made during this In-District registration period.   Accepted payment methods are Visa and Mastercard.   Registrants also have the option to pay in person at LTHS North Campus. If you have selected this option, please bring the following items to the North Campus bookstore:

  • A print-out of the registration confirmation screen with Web Order ID number
  • Valid Visa, Mastercard, Discover, cash, or check

In-District registrants utilizing Pay-In-Person must pay-in-full no later than Friday, March 9, 2012.  Any registrations with outstanding payments as of 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012 will be vacated.  The North Campus bookstore is open from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. 

If the number of course registrations exceeds the participation limit, a RANDOM LOTTERY will be conducted.  Registrations will be drawn at random to determine which participants are enrolled in the course and which are not. Those participants that are not selected in the lottery process will be issued a refund of the full registration cost in the form of a check through the Lyons Township High School Business Office. 

Open Registration/Out-of-District: Beginning on April 9, 2012, all unfilled slots will be open to the public for registration on a first come-first served basis.

Summer Academic Refund Policy:

A cancellation fee is assessed for each course that is dropped by 3:00 p.m. June 8, 2012 (first semester and annual courses) and June 29, 2012 (second semester courses).

 
Cancellation fee schedule:
· March 5 - April 30: $25.00
· May 1 - May 14: $50.00
· May 15 - May 31: $75.00
· June 1 - Day before course begins: $100.00
 
Refunds for the second semester of an annual course will not be honored after June 8, 2012.
 
A second semester course (which is not a continuation of an annual course) must be dropped by 3:00 p.m. on June 29, 2012 to qualify for a partial refund.
 
No refund will be issued if a student withdraws after the specified date, is dropped for disciplinary reasons, or is dropped for attendance reasons.
