David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D.

A 1955 graduate of Lyons Township High School, Dr. Kamerschen continued his education at Miami University where he received his Bachelor of Science in General Business in 1959 and Master of Arts in Economics in 1960. He received a doctorate in Economics from Michigan State University in 1964. Dr. Kamerschen was a graduate assistant and instructor at Miami University; assistant instructor at Michigan State University; assistant professor at Washington University; associate professor and professor at the University of Missouri; and, since 1974, has been at the University of Georgia where, after serving two terms as department head, he is currently a distinguished professor. He has received the National Outstanding Educator of America Award several times and has been selected for a number of University of Georgia teaching awards. Dr. Kamerschen is the author often different books and 160 articles. His textbooks have been used at numerous colleges and universities in the United States and abroad. He is a member of the National Association of Forensic Economists and is an Associate Member of the American Bar Association. Dr. Kamerschen is married to Gena F. Hampton, has six children and resides in Duluth, Georgia.
