Internationally known for his seascapes, Charles Vickery is a 1931 graduate. His oil paintings and limited edition prints are in private collections and galleries in all parts of the world. Having studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and Chicago's American Academy of Art, Vickery is often regarded as the finest seascape artist of our time. His nautical art distinctively captures the essence of the sea itself along with the romance of celebrated clipper ships. Some of his most famous works include The Christmas Tree Schooner, Hush of Winter, Moontide, The Storm of Battle, Farewell Chicago and Jesus Walking on the Sea. As a charter member of the prestigious American Society of Marine Artists and a signature member of a newly organized Oil Painters of America Representational, Vickery supports and helps foster the growth and appreciation of the two respective art forms. Among his many awards include the International Marine Art Show in Philadelphia, Rockport, Massachusetts, and Mystic, Connecticut.
