Highest finish ever for LTHS accounting students

A team of seven Lyons Township High School accounting students recently competed against five other schools in the Bottom Line Accounting Contest, sponsored by the Illinois CPA Society.  LTHS placed second and earned a plaque, narrowly missing first place by four points. Individuals who placed were C. Szulc- first overall, and A. Smith- third place and R.Miller- fifth place.

Congratulations to LT’s accounting team for the district’s strongest finish in the Bottom Line Contest.

At total of 57 students competed in the contest. The test consisted of 150 multiple choice questions covering basic terminology, concepts and applications of accounting, including bank reconciliation statements, granting credit to customers, proper format of double-entry accounting, categorization of accounts, how to record fees earned and expenses paid.
