Administrator of the year :::
LTHS Kelly named Administrator of the Year
Lyons Township High School Superintendent Dennis G. Kelly, Ph.D., has been named the Illinois Administrator of the Year by the Illinois Association of Educational Office Professionals (IAEOP). This award will be presented at the annual IAEOP spring convention March 27 in Urbana. Kelly’s nomination will advance to the National Association of Educational Office Professionals and will represent Illinois at the national level.
Rose Hilger, Administrative Assistant in the SC Assistant Principal’s Office and member of the West Suburban chapter of IAEOP, coordinated the nomination at the local level. After winning the title from the West Suburban chapter, Kelly’s nomination advanced to the state level. The award is based largely on a candidate’s support of education office personnel, as well as experience, education and personal contributions and achievements in education.
Hilger’s nomination notes, “Dr. Kelly’s dedication to an open door policy with all educational office professionals creates the ideal environment of free communication, guidance, and support necessary for success at LTHS. His personal investment in our individual and professional well-being demonstrates his clear commitment to all of us. His recognition of our strengths, along with his encouragement to seek new challenges, ensures that we constantly have new and exciting challenges to help us expand our knowledge base. These challenges also ensure that we feel integrated into the team and can work together to create a positive atmosphere of achievement, not only in the office and school, but within our entire community.”
Kelly has served as LTHS superintendent for the past 17 years. He is retiring in June.
