LTHS Adult Ed to offer summer English classes for non-English speaking

The Lyons Township High School Adult Education summer program is offering two English as a Second Language programs, which both begin June 2 and run twice a week through August 6. Classes are $53 or half-price for senior citizens 65-years and older who live in-district. Participants can register on-line at www.lths.net and click on the online webstore or call the Adult Education program office at 708-579-6573 for additional information or assistance.

The Multi-Level English Study Group (Intermediate & Advanced) program provides an opportunity for participants will continue to learn English with a special study group. Take the class as a refresher course or while waiting to begin courses next semester. Practice conversation and play educational games. Reading and writing are included. All materials provided by the instructor and no textbook or homework! This class runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings, June 2-August 6, 5-7:00 p.m. at South Campus Room B103. Tuition is $53 or $26.50 for seniors 65 and over who live in-district and have an LT Gold Card.

Speak English 1 (Beginner) is a course is for the true beginner or for a student who has taken one English class in the past. Participants will learn simple vocabulary, commands, and how to ask common questions in everyday life. Topics include countries, numbers, clothing, colors, family, the calendar, food, homes, shopping, the community, work, health and leisure time. This class runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings, June 2-August 6, 7-9 p.m. at South Campus Room B103. Tuition is $53 or $26.50 for seniors 65 and over who live in-district and have an LT Gold Card. There is an additional cost for the textbook.
