LTHS awarded Bright Red Apple Award
Lyons Township High School was recently awarded a 2009 Bright Red Apple Award for educational excellence by SchoolSearch, an educational research and consulting firm that publishes online rankings of school systems. All school districts throughout Illinois are considered for the award. LT is one of 81 out of 868 Illinois school districts to receive the award.
Evaluations are based on five main categories: academic performance, pupil/teacher ratio, operating expenditure per pupil, educational level of teachers and average teacher salary.
Winning districts had to meet the following minimum benchmarks:
Teachers with Master’s Degrees or Above >=53.2%
Pupil/Teacher Ratio <= 18.0:1
Average Teacher Salary >= $60,871
Operating Expenditure Per Pupil >= $9,907
ACT Composite score >= 20.9
