Pre-register for summer driver education
The Lyons Township High School Driver Education Department invites parents of eligible parochial
school freshmen or sophomores who live in district 204 to pre-register their student for summer
school driver’s education. Eligible students may pre-register Tuesday, November 1 thru Friday,
December 16 by calling the Driver Education office between 8am and 3pm at
708-579-6573.
LT’s Driver Education summer school program begins on Monday, June 12, 2006, one week earlier than regular summer school, and will end on Friday, July 7, 2006. Eligibility for enrollment is based on the following state requirements.
• Birthday cut off date: Students born on or before 3-18-91.
• Students must have passed 8 classes in their previous two semesters.
• Daily attendance is mandatory due to the Secretary of State hourly requirements.
• Freshmen enrollment is limited based on date of birth.
The cost of summer school driver education is $338.60, due at registration. Parents should
note that three separate checks will be required at registration. Fees include $305 for the
classroom and behind-the-wheel tuition, $20 for the state test, and an additional $13.60 for the
workbook.
