Latin students seek success on National Latin Exam :::

Lyons Township High School world languages students are no strangers to top honors in annual language exams. Every year, LT linguists participate in national exams developed, written and scored by nationwide committees comprised of high school and college professors belonging to their respective foreign language professional organization. While each organization categorizes and classifies their top scorers differently, LTHS linguists consistently place among the top. The National Latin Exam requires that students prove their proficiency at translation and demonstrate their knowledge of Latin grammar, vocabulary and Roman culture. There are different exams for each level, including a choice of poetry or prose for Levels III and IV. Twenty-five students took the National Latin Exam, and each performed excellently.
