LT shares expertise at PE convention :::
Six teachers in the Lyons Township High School Physical Education Department shared their expertise with fellow Illinois educators at the Illinois Association for Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance convention on November 20 and 21at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles.
Assistant Division Chair for Physical Education and Health Joann Pyritz said, “We are proud of our teachers’ efforts as they contributed to the knowledge of educators across the state. It is clear that our Physical Education program continues to be one of the best.”
Several LT students assisted in two of the presentations- Team Building and Dance. Student
dancers, led by Eurythmics sponsor Terry Wethington, also performed at the Dance Gala which was a
culminating activity of the convention.

The convention also included an awards banquet, where physical education teacher Katie Meyers
was honored for receiving the Young Professional Educator of the Year Award for the state of
Illinois. Principal Dave Franson spoke on her behalf at this event.
