Schabacker retires from girls basketball :::

Lyons Township High School announced today that Dawn Schabacker retired as varsity girls’ basketball coach. She will continue to teach health and coach volleyball and softball at LTHS.

Schabacker finished her basketball coaching career with an overall varsity record of 366 wins and 247 losses. Over her coaching tenure, six years at the JV/sophomore level and 20 years at the varsity level, she helped secure four conference championships and 12 regional, five sectional and four super sectional titles. She took LT to the state tournament in ’92, ’93, ’96 and ‘99.

Principal Dave Franson thanked Schabacker for her talents, “Coach Schabacker has been a fixture in our athletic program for many years.  We appreciate all that she has done for our basketball program. We will miss her on the basketball court, but the students of LTHS will continue to benefit from her efforts in the classroom.”
