Scholastic Art Bound for National Competition :::
Twenty-three pieces of artwork by 20 Lyons Township High School student artists will advance to the Scholastic Art Awards national competition in New York, where they will join approximately selections from across the country. Judges will critique and choose just 700 winning pieces based on thought, technique, execution, and overall impact. LT's contingent includes two Art Portfolios, two Photo Portfolios and nineteen Gold Key winners.
Three of the students advancing to national competition have multiple pieces of art that qualified. Double winners senior C. Muzzio and J. Tenuta will advance their Art Portfolios as well as pieces in the Printmaking category. Senior E. Mardiks will advance in both the Photo Portfolio and Digital Photography categories.
