Criteria for Superintendent
Following consultation with staff, parents, students, and the community, the Lyons Township High School District Board of Education is seeking an educational leader who possesses the following characteristics:
• Approachable – Is readily available to various constituencies and interacts with them with respect.
• Collaborative -- Is able to work in the spirit of teamwork while motivating others to achieve at the highest levels.
• Communicator – Is a visible, effective spokesperson for LTHS and is able to clearly articulate both verbally and in writing the District’s vision, successes, and challenges.
• Deals Directly and Fairly – Treats others with respect.
• Decisive – Seeks input in a collaborative manner and uses this input in making effective and timely decisions.
• Delegation – Delegates appropriate tasks to others and holds them accountable.
• Integrity – Has high ethical and moral standards for personal and professional performance and the performance of others.
• Student centered – Makes recommendations and decisions considering the best interests of students.
• Values tradition – Appreciates and celebrates the proud history of LTHS
• Visionary –Establishes goals and works with others towards achievement.

Background – Significant education experience and a record of administrative success is
required of the new superintendent. A doctorate is preferred.
