COVID-19 Dashboard

  • The Lyons Township High School District 204 COVID-19 Dashboard represents the number of reported positive COVID-19 cases on campus, as well as the number of individuals identified as close contacts related to reported positive COVID-19 cases on campus. A COVID-19 case is defined as an individual with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnostic test OR an individual with COVID-like symptoms who was exposed to a confirmed case. Positive cases require at least 10 days isolation from the date of symptom onset or test collection. Individuals identified as close contacts require 14 day isolation from the date of last known contact. A negative test does not impact the duration of quarantine.

Close contact is defined as anyone (with or without a face covering) who was within 6 feet of a confirmed case of COVID-19 (with or without a face covering), for a cumulative total of at least 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period during the infectious period. Repeated exposures result in an increased amount of time of exposure; the longer a person is exposed to an infected person, the higher the risk of exposure/transmission. The infectious period of close contact begins 2 calendar days before the onset of symptoms (for a symptomatic person) or 2 calendar days before the positive sample was obtained (for an asymptomatic person). If the case was symptomatic (e.g., coughing, sneezing), persons with briefer periods of exposure may also be considered contacts.

The District 204 Dashboard also represents the positive cases that have been reported to the Cook County Department of Public Health, as required. In the event someone with confirmed or probable COVID-19 has been on campus, a school nurse will complete contact tracing to identify exposures. Individuals determined to have been exposed will be contacted by the school nurse and provided with directions regarding quarantine or isolation. In addition, the school nurse will track all school related cases to ensure a safe return to school. School nurses will work in coordination with the local health department as required by the public health code. Contact tracing is a confidential public health intervention.

COVID-19 positive test results for students or staff who have been on campus should be submitted to:  North Campus – Julie Loftus or South Campus – Megan Styx.
