  • PSAT/NMSQT TEST DATE CHANGE for 2020

    • The PSAT/NMSQT test date has been changed to SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2020.
    • LT's only PSAT/NMSQT test date will be Saturday, Oct. 17.
    • The PSAT/NMSQT test will begin at 7:30 a.m. with check-in.
    • Test locations are TBD.
    • The test will no longer be administered on Wed., Oct. 14.
    • The PSAT/NMSQT test is for LTHS juniors only. Sophomores will take the PSAT 10 in the spring.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Purpose:  
    The purpose of the PSAT/NMSQT test:
    • When taken as a junior, the PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying exam for National Merit Scholarship consideration.
    • By taking the PSAT/NMSQT, students will also prepare themselves for the format and content of the SAT (a national college entrance exam).
    Who takes the PSAT/NMSQT?
    It is recommended for high performing 11th grade students.
     
    Is the PSAT/NMSQT test optional or required?
    The PSAT test is optional.
     
    What areas does the PSAT/NMSQT test cover?
    The content of the test is as follows:
    • Reading Test
    • Writing and Language Test
    • Math Test

  • Test Date and Time:  
    Saturday, October 17, 2020. PLEASE NOTE:  Students must arrive for the test by 7:30 a.m.
     
    Registration Deadline:  
    September 4, 2020
     
    How do I register for the PSAT/NMSQT test?
    You can register for the PSAT/NMSQT test through the LTHS web store (click here). If you prefer to pay by check or cash, registration forms are available from the Testing Office in room 45, (North Campus), from either North or South Campus Bookstores or you can download it here.
     
    What do I do if I missed the PSAT/NMSQT test?
    The PSAT/NMSQT test is only offered once per year.  There is no make-up exam. 

TEST DAY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Test Location:  
    The PSAT/NMSQT test will be administered at LTHS North Campus for junior students. Students should arrive to the check-in by 7:30 a.m.  
     
    What should I bring on test day? 
    Students need to bring their photo ID, #2 non-mechanical pencils, an eraser, and a calculator.
     
    Can I bring a snack?
    Students will have several short breaks during which a snack can be eaten. Snacks must be stored at the back of the testing room.  Please do not bring a water bottle to the test. There are water fountains available.
      
    Can I bring my cell phone? 
    Students may bring a cell phone, however, the phone MUST BE POWERED COMPLETELY OFF DURING TESTING.  If a cell phone is activated during testing, the student’s test will be voided.
