- Clear Student Expectations for Behavior/Safety communicated consistently for all students (SEL Lessons/Welcome Week, AP Talks, Handbook, Signage, Training (drills, reunification walks, etc)
- Assistant Principals facilitate AP Talks with students at the beginning of each semester in which they reiterate student behavior and attendance expectations. Additionally, the freshman class AP meets with all incoming students at Freshman Experience Day to share safety, behavior, and attendance expectations as well as communicate student support at LTHS.
- The District 204 Student Handbook is shared with students and families at the beginning of each year and is accessible on the website. On a yearly basis, parents/guardians sign off acknowledging that they and their students have received, read, and understand the Policies and Procedures found within the Student Handbook. Parent/guardian Student confirmation is their acknowledgement of understanding and confirmation that it is their responsibility to make sure that they and their student(s) are acquainted with the Student Handbook and related materials and keep up-to-date on any changes that may be implemented from time to time. The District 204 Handbook outlines policies, expectations, resources, and other information that is essential for students and families as we collectively strive to maintain and uphold the core values of District 204:

- In accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education School Safety Drill Act, LTHS conducts the following school safety drills on a yearly basis in conjunction with local law first responders:
- Three Evacuation Drills (Fire Drills)
- Bus Evacuation Drill
- Shelter In Place (Severe Weather/Tornado Drill)
- Law Enforcement Drill (Active Shooter/VCI)
