BREADCRUMB

Vita Plena Quarter 4 Recipient

The Vita Plena Award has been presented by the Superintendent to a deserving individual since the mid 1990’s. The award is generally presented to an individual who embodies the themes of inspiration, creativity, kindness, selflessness, and, overall, someone who goes above and beyond in service to our school community.

For Quarter 4, Dr. Waterman presented Dainora Baliutaviciene with the Vita Plena award. Dainora has been a valued member of the Lyons Township High School community since 2009, serving students with compassion, patience, and dedication throughout her many years at LTHS. As a paraeducator, Dainora currently supports students in the Multilingual program, helping students feel welcomed, supported, and connected as they navigate their educational experience. Over the years, she has also worked with students in other areas, including Special Education, always bringing kindness and encouragement to those she serves.

Dainora studied Library and Information Sciences at Vilnius University in Lithuania and brings a rich depth of knowledge and life experience to her work with students and colleagues. Before joining LTHS, she worked with the Vilnius Ecological Institute as part of the UNESCO program Man and Biosphere and also served in the Genealogy Department at the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture.

Dainora speaks fluent Russian and Lithuanian, allowing her to build meaningful relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds. She also currently serves as the sponsor of the Lithuanian Club, helping students celebrate culture, heritage, and community.

Those who know Dainora describe her as caring, dependable, and deeply committed to helping students feel seen and supported. Her positive impact on students and colleagues alike truly reflects the spirit of the Vita Plena Award. Congratulations, Dainora, and thanks for all of the ways you support our students and community!
