Academic Excellence
The Student Awards listed below highlight the District's commitment to recognizing and celebrating student achievements across various academic disciplines.

LT Service Award:
LT Service Awards are given to seniors who have been nominated by faculty/staff members for their outstanding contributions of service to LT. All seniors honored with Service Awards receive a key chain.
Academic Chevron:
Lyons Township High School awards Academic Chevrons for continuing academic excellence. The criteria for earning the first Academic Chevron is either 5 consecutive semesters on the honor roll or 6 cumulative semesters. The criteria for earning the second Academic Chevron is either 7 consecutive semesters on the honor roll or 8 cumulative semesters.
Academic Letter Awards:
Academic Letter Awards at Lyons Township High School are awarded to students who have excelled in academic performance over time. In order to receive the first Academic Letter, a student must have earned honor roll status over 3 consecutive semesters or 4 cumulative semesters.
Sophomore Gold "L" Award:
Sophomore Gold "L" Awards are given on the basis of academic achievement. Sophomore Gold L is for those students who were on the honor roll for the first 3 semesters at LT.
Senior Gold "L" Award:
Gold "L" Awards are given on the basis of academic achievement. Seniors whose cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.6667 or higher or a weighted GPA of 4.5 or higher as the 7th semester will receive this award.
President's Education Award:
The President's Education Awards are earned by students who achieve a cumulative minimum 4.5 weighted GPA as of the 7th semester.
