BREADCRUMB

Baccalaureate

A Senior Celebration

Baccalaureate is a time for graduating seniors to reflect, share memories and give gratitude. Any current senior who is interested in participating in this end of the year program should attend an informational meeting in February in the NC Library. There will be announcements and reminders prior to this first meeting date.

The Baccalaureate Program at LTHS began many years ago as a religious program recognizing the “beginning of the end”: a service documenting the senior student’s journey toward their graduation from high school.

Today, Baccalaureate is NOT a religious ceremony. It has become a student directed reflective program allowing senior students to share memories, give gratitude and reflect on their high school years and their futures. This is an opportunity for students to come together, celebrate their past four years at LT and look forward to their future…wherever it may lead.

This year, the program will be held on Sunday, May 15th, 2022 in the Reber Center, no tickets needed. It begins at 2:00pm and usually lasts about an hour and a half.  Individual students participate by reading poems, speeches or stories that have had an impact on their lives or that they have written themselves. In addition, students may perform their musical talent as a soloist or small ensemble. We can help students select something to perform!
