2026-27 Band Calendar

Band Attendance Policy: Due to the interdependent nature of music, attendance at all performances and rehearsals is required. Dates have been provided well in advance, and students are expected to plan ahead to solve any conflicts. Directors will be glad to assist students in working out conflicts; however, this is the responsibility of the student and should be addressed well in advance of any conflict. Work schedule conflicts are never excused absences.

Athletic Conflicts: While the majority of athletic conflicts are excused; pasta parties and other such activities are not legitimate excuses to miss rehearsals or performances.

Penalties: All unexcused absences will negatively affect the students grade in band. Students who are consistently absent or tardy may (at the discretion of the director) forfeit their position in the drill.

Tardy Policy: Attendance at rehearsals and performances will be taken immediately at call time. Any student not in attendance will be marked absent. Any student whose late arrival was not excused in advance will be marked tardy. Students who are tardy will receive half of the participation points for that event.

Mandatory Marching Uniform and Equipment Requirements: Mechanical Pencil Lyre (not required for drumline) Flip Folder (not required for drumline) Velocity Marching shoes (black) – an order will be taken at the beginning of the season Black Gloves (will be sold during rehearsals) Black socks (must cover the calf) LT Marching Band Uniform (Coat, Pants, Gauntlets, Hat and Plume – provided by school)

No deviations from this policy will be permitted. Students not dressed in full uniform will not be permitted to perform and will lose one third of their participation points for that event.

Marching Shoes/Black Gloves: All students will be provided with a shoe order form on the first day of marching band camp. We will place one shoe order through the school, any student not participating in that order will be expected to find and purchase shoes on their own. Black gloves will be available for purchase through the school during marching band camp.
