September 23-27

The  LT SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) Promise Club is launching a week-long initiative called Start With Hello. The Start With Hello program brings attention to the growing epidemic of social isolation in schools and communities and empowers young people to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their school. In three simple steps, Start With Hello teaches students to reach out and include those who may be dealing with social isolation, and who might be at risk of harming themselves or others.

1. See Someone Alone

2. Reach Out and Help

3. Start With Hello

September 23-27  is Start With Hello week at LT and at high schools nationwide.

Riveting Example of the Power of Hello

If you want a riveting example of the power of hello, watch this video. This is a TED talk entitled "I Was Almost a School Shooter."  It reminds us all that the most powerful tool we have to protect ourselves and others from a violent act is our ability to connect with each other. We think you will agree, this Ted Talk should be required viewing in every school in America!
