North Campus Blood Drives
Each semester, Student Council partners with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois to host a Blood Drive in the Vaughan Gym. This year's drives were held on:

At its inaugural "Beacon of Hope" Award Gala on November 21, 2024, Versiti Blood Center of Illinois honored Lyons Township High School for saving the most lives among its school partners. In 2023, LT collected 96 units of blood — enough to save 288 lives — the largest amount among Versiti's school partners. Versiti of Illinois supports 63 hospitals across 12 counties in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, collecting over 155,000 units of blood annually.
Lyons Township High School previously received the Award of Excellence for Outstanding High School Blood Drive from Heartland Blood Centers (now Versiti) in 2017. LT has been a Versiti/Heartland partner school since November 1982.

At our most recent drive (March 13, 2025), LT students, staff, and community members donated 54 blood products, including 16 "double red" donations.
How to Sign Up
Students must schedule their appointments in advance, to minimize their loss of instructional time. They can do so by dropping by the Student Council table during lunch periods.
Scheduling for the fall blood drive will open in the Fieldhouse Lobby on a Wednesday, date TBD.
Can't make it to the sign-up table?
Online scheduling requests for students will open on a date TBD. Students will be able to submit a scheduling request HERE, and Student Council will analyze your schedule and send appointment information within 48 hours.
Adult Donors
Community members are invited to sign up at our dedicated drive site. LT Staff members can also “walk-in” and donate blood at any convenient time.

Tips for a Successful Donation
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of fluids beginning the night before your donation.
- Avoid coffee and energy drinks before your donation.
- Don’t skip breakfast or lunch.
- Bring a photo ID.
