Applications to run for 2025-26 Student Government Officer positions will be available March 10 - April 11.
Student Representative to the Board of Education applications will be available April 7 - April 17.

Class Boards & Student Council

Applications were available March 10 to April 11.
 
Applicants completed a four-step process consisting of an online application, a fully-signed petition, two recommendations, and a mandatory Candidates Meeting.
Elections for the 2025-26 Class Board Officers will take place online between Monday, April 28 and Friday, May 2.
 
Elections for 2025-26 Student Council Officers will take place at the Wednesday, April 30 Student Council meeting.

Position Description:

The Student Representative to the Board of Education serves a dual-purpose role. The Student Representative gives perspective to both the Board of Education and the students of Lyons Township High School. At School Board meetings, the Student Representative represents the student body on a variety of issues. All juniors are eligible to apply for this position but will not be seated until their senior year. Interested candidates must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing. The 2025-26 term of office runs from August 1, 2025 to June 1, 2026. The Student Representative is required to make his/her first report to the Board of Education at the August 2025 Board meeting.

Important Dates:

Monday, April 7 - The online application process opens.

Thursday, April 17 - Last day to submit an online application.

Monday, April 21 - Board of Education meeting at 7:00 p.m. Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend this Board meeting. Details to join the meeting, whether in-person or virtual, will be provided to each applicant.

Monday, April 28 - The Superintendent’s administrative assistant will schedule applicant interviews, which will take place in the Superintendent’s office (North Campus Room 105). If the interviews will not be held in person, applicants will receive a Zoom link for a virtual interview. The newly selected Student Representative will be informed of his/her selection by the Superintendent directly.

Monday, May 19 - The new Student Representative to the Board of Education is required to attend this Board of Education meeting to be publicly introduced.
