Microfinance is a form of lending money to people in need to help them find employment or start a business. It is a humanitarian, sustainable solution to economic insecurity. For example, a person could use our loans to buy clothes for a job interview, transportation to a work site, or to purchase materials to support a business. During meetings, we will brainstorm fundraising strategies and read and explore other cases of microfinance and sustainable development projects across the world. We will examine how institutions have loaned our funds and learn how they analyze certain groups and individuals for loaning. Ultimately, we will spread awareness about microfinance in the LT community through our fundraising projects. Microfinance is an awesome way to take action in our local and global communities while also learning essential financial and communication skills.
