The lifeguard club is open to both certified lifeguards and individuals interested in pursuing their lifeguard certification.
Lifeguarding club is a service group that facilitate, organize, and staff open swims for the Lyons Township community.
Participation in the LT Lifeguard club will give the students the opportunity for growth and increase their self-confidence, self-awareness, maturity, and their roles in the community.
Lifeguarding club is a structured organization that will provide opportunities in leadership and in-service hours for students. The lifeguard officers and members will meet and decide upon social activities and philanthropies that the membership choose to support.

Lifeguard certification course requirements:
Lifeguard candidates must be 15 years old by by the last date of training course.
Pretest: 1. 300 swim no time limit 2. Two minute water tread 3. Retrieve 8 -10 pound weight from the bottom of the pool
Lifeguard candidates must attend all classes in order to pass and get certified. Lifeguard candidates must use a personal email when they register with the American Red Cross. 10 hours of online training must be completed before in person training may begin. Lifeguard candidates must bring a hard copy of completion of both lifeguard online training and CPR training.
