Purpose & Mission

  • The Office of Assessment and Research measures, and then communicates the academic performance and growth achieved by the students of LTHS to staff, students, parents, community members, and associate schools.

The Office of Assessment and Research ensures more students learn more by collaborating with the staff of LTHS to collect, analyze, use, and react to data and education research.
  • Please note: Registrations for Saturday national tests are handled completely by the testing companies (ACT, Inc. and College Board). LTHS serves as the host site and has no ability to register students or select students for our test site.

The College Board has posted SAT testing updates on their website. Please be aware of the following regarding these updates:

    • Regarding the STATE SAT that was cancelled last April
      • A proposal has been put forth by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to request funds to purchase a fall state SAT test for all rising seniors who attend an Illinois public high school.
      • It should be voted on by Illinois legislators later this month.
      • If funding is NOT approved, there will be NO SAT test in the fall.
      • If funding is approved, there will be only one SAT test offered
    • Requirements that must be in place in order for a fall SAT test to occur:
      • Students return to school in the fall
      • Social distancing can be exercised for testing approximately 1000 students
      • Funding is approved
    • College Admission Requirements—TEST OPTIONAL
      • There are currently over 1200 colleges and universities that are making the standardized test an optional component for admission.
      • A list of the colleges and universities is available here: https://fairtest.org/university/optional

  • The June 13, 2020 ACT test has been cancelled at LTHS due to the current restrictions in place due to COVID-19.

At this time LTHS intends to host the September ACT and the September SAT.

This is subject to change if restrictions are put back into place by the governor.
