Students who are enrolled in the Chefs Program are the members of the Catering Club. Chefs 1 & Chefs 2 students are automatically in the club through the classes. Students are exposed many aspects of food preparation and, most importantly, that such an undertakings involve a collaborative effort. Students enrolled the Chefs Program rotate through jobs as they learn the various aspects of working in and running a restaurant style food service or catering atmosphere.
Within the curriculum of the course and everyday lab operation, the class also caters a variety of district events and activities, tests and tweaks recipes that they feel would appeal to potential consumers, and prepare “Gourmet to Go” meals available for purchase.
