Vita Plena Quarter 2 Recipient
Congratulations to Missy Mitidiero who serves as a teacher and athletic coach in our Physical Welfare Division.
The Vita Plena Award has been presented by the Superintendent to a deserving individual since the mid 1990’s. The award is generally presented to an individual who embodies the themes of inspiration, creativity, kindness, selflessness, and, overall, someone who goes above and beyond in service to our school community. Missy Mitidiero was a natural choice for the award!
Missy is a graduate of DePaul University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Physical Education, and went on to complete graduate studies in Teacher Leadership at Concordia University and further studies in Physical Education at Chicago State University.
Since joining Lyons Township High School in the 2014-2015 school year, Missy has been a cornerstone of our Physical Welfare division. She has taught a variety of courses, including PE, Dance Fitness, and Yoga, and has also served as a curriculum coordinator. Beyond the classroom, her passion for athletics has inspired our students through her coaching of girls lacrosse in the past, and currently, girls basketball and flag football.
Through her dedication to teaching and coaching, Missy exemplifies the spirit of 'Vita Plena'—living a fulfilled life and helping others do the same. Congratulations Missy!
