Welcome Dr. Patrice Payne
The District 204 Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. Patrice Payne as Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the 2025-26 school year, at the February 18 Regular Action Meeting.
Dr. Payne completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Speech, and Secondary Education at Pepperdine University, as well as a Masters of Arts in Educational Administration at Governors State University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at the University of Southern California. Dr. Payne is currently serving as the Associate Principal of Teaching and Learning at Maine East High School, after previously serving as the District Director of Instructional Equity at Hinsdale Township High School District 86. Dr. Payne also has served as a District MTSS Specialist (Rich Township High School), Principal (Crenshaw Arts/Tech High School), and English Teacher and Literacy Coach (Thornton Township High School).
Dr. Payne's academic background and professional experience demonstrate a strong foundation in instructional leadership, curriculum development, equity-focused initiatives, and systems thinking—all critical components for success in this role.
Dr. Payne will officially begin on July 1, 2025
