2017 Midwest Media Educators High School Video Festival

We competed against students from over 30 other high schools in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. There were 16 categories of competition with 519 total entries.

 

Here is the list of category winners:

In the category of Live Event: Sports (19 total entries in the category) Max Abrahamson, Luke Lusson, Paul Moorehouse, and Sean Robinson won 1st Place for “Basketball Blackout”

In the category of Demonstration (21 total entries in the category) Sean Robinson won 1st Place for “How to Make a Pen”

Here is the list of the Finalists (entry made it into the top 10 in a given category):

Grace Barone was a Finalist in the Demonstration category for “How To Make Movie Style Popcorn” (21 total entries in the category)

Alexander Kuptel was a Finalist in the Demonstration category for “How to Make Dank Video Memes” (21 total entries in the category)

Alexander Kuptel was a Finalist in the Documentary category for “Patrick Catezone” (39 total entries in the category)

Max Abrahamson was a Finalist in the News Package category for “Athlete of the Week: Hasahn Austin” (42 total entries in the category)

Ryan Gorey was a Finalist in the School Promotion category for “Brass Impact” (45 total entries in the category)

Carl Volz, Domenic Campo, Matt Cavanaugh, and Luke Cunningham were Finalists in the Movie Trailer category for “48 Hours” (37 total entries in the category)

Finally, our entry into the 7-Day Challenge category won a Silver Award. The student producers were Max Abrahamson, Sean Robinson, Paul Moorehouse, and Albert Ferastrau.
