Incoming Freshmen
Enrolling in choir is a wonderful choice for freshmen. The students and teachers work hard to create a warm environment that fosters strong friendships and creates a sense of belonging. Available choral music classes for incoming freshmen at Lyons Township High School include Freshman Girls’ Chorus, Freshman Boys’ Chorus, and Freshman Girls Vocal Technique. All three choirs perform a total of four concerts annually and are encouraged to participate in the annual Solo and Ensemble Festival. Freshman Girls’ and Freshman Boys’ Choruses often combine to perform mixed literature along with their own repertoire. In addition to performing as a choir, girls enrolled in Vocal Techniques class will study and publicly perform solo literature. All freshmen are given a comprehensive course in music-reading, vocal technique, music theory and expression. Private lessons are also available for students to take at Lyons Township High School.
