For the tenth consecutive year, LTHS hosted a Veterans Day assembly at each campues. LT graduates Nancy Kenney (South Campus) and Fred Barofsky (North Campus) served as keynote speakers as they shared their stories and perspectives on Veterans Day.
LT is proud to honor and recognize the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces during the Veterans Day Assemblies. We recognize these heroes for the sacrifices they make to ensure our freedoms, for the courage they demonstrate in the face of danger and for their willingness to stand up and defend the ideals and beliefs of ALL citizens in the United States of America. This responsibility is emphasized in early November each year, but it is just as important that we, as a school community, reinforce patriotism, service to others and the respect of other's beliefs.
Following the North Campus assembly, LT officially unveiled its new Wall of Honor, which honors the service and sacrifice of our alumni and showcases the district’s military history. The Wall of Honor features a searchable database of LT veterans, two murals painted by students, plaques paying tribute to veteran graduates and interesting facts and figures regarding LT wartime activities and support.
