LT students created hundreds of art pieces throughout the first semester. Despite the pandemic, remote learning and cancelled art exhibits, student-artists flourished and the LT art teachers want their student work to be seen an enjoyed by the entire LT community. Please visit the district website at www.lths.net/artwork for a virtual exhibit.
The virtual exhibit features pieces of art from various mediums and all levels. From drawings, paintings and photographs to jewelry, textiles, video and sculptures, the virtual exhibit displays the finest work of student-artists.
Art teacher Lorena Lagis said, “Creating art through Zoom is not always easy! Loud siblings, barking dogs and intermittent wi-fi are just some of the challenges students face when learning remotely. However, first semester LTHS art students thrived in their home studios and embraced the opportunity to create art from scratch in all mediums.”
“At the start of the year, students and their families borrowed art kits, materials, clay and cameras to name a few of the supplies prepared for them. They committed to the learning, sacrificed the space in their home, and with the lessons learned through Zoom, created original works of art that they can be proud of. The LTHS Art teachers are very proud and we thank LTHS faculty, staff and community for their continued support of our students,” she added.
