Parenting Series: October lineup

The Parent Community Network has partnered with the Glenbard Parenting Series, an educational consortium dedicated to presenting distinguished, relevant, high-profile authors, clinicians, and educators who share practical research-based knowledge and personal experience to develop social and emotional learning, increase well-being and enhance the positive youth development of students of all ages. The Lyons Township High School community is invited to connect with other high school parents and students for the Series. Workshops are designed to engage top experts, parents and school staff to become proactive and informed in pursuit of the mutual goal to strengthen our communities. Programs are free and open to the public. Below is the lineup of October speakers.

La finalización de la escuela secundaria y la universidad puede ser un factor determinante en el futuro de una persona. Y aunque las tasas de matrícula están aumentando, los estudiantes de minorías todavía enfrentan obstáculos adicionales. Los padres juegan un papel clave en el futuro de sus hijos al reconocer los pasos necesarios para estar preparados para la universidad. Para ayudar a los estudiantes a atravesar este proceso potencialmente estresante en el camino para lograr sus sueños universitarios y profesionales, hemos reunido a tres expertos: la consejera escolar de Glenbard West, Lissete Ochoa, la consejera de la escuela Glenbard East, Lizette Ramirez, y la representante de asistencia estudiantil de Illinois, Elizabeth Barrera.
