Congratulations to our LION Newspaper for being honored at the National Scholastic Press Association/Journalism Education Association national high school journalism convention, held Nov. 10-13, 2022, in St. Louis, Mo.

Five LION newspaper students (of the 10 who participated) placed in the JEA National Student Media Contests for work they completed at the convention.

• Senior Sydney Wolf: Honorable Mention, Sports Feature Photography

• Senior Maddie Gee: Honorable Mention, Review Writing

• Senior Nicholas Barbera: Honorable Mention, Sports Writing

• Senior Cooper Anderson: Honorable Mention, Feature Writing

  OVERALL AWARDS:

• LION newspaper was inducted into the NSPA Pacemaker 100, designating it as one of the top 100 awarded publications over the 100-year history of NSPA.

LION issue #2 of the year (dated for Nov. 10, 2022) placed Second in the “Best in Show” category for newspapers at schools of 1,800 students or more.
